The basic function of polypropylene capacitor is to charge and discharge, but many circuit phenomena extended from this basic charge discharge effect make the capacitor have various uses. For example, in electric motors, we use them to generate phase shifts; in photographic flashlights, we use them to generate high-energy instantaneous discharges; and in electronic circuits, capacitors have many uses of different properties. Although there are many different uses, they all come from charging and discharging. Its basic functions are as follows:

(1) Bypass

Bypass capacitor is an energy storage device that provides energy for local devices. It can make the output of voltage regulator uniform and reduce the load demand. Like a small rechargeable battery, the bypass capacitor can be charged and discharged to the device. In order to reduce the impedance as much as possible, the bypass capacitance should be close to the power supply pin and ground pin of the load device. This can prevent ground potential elevation and noise caused by too large input value. The ground potential is the voltage drop when the ground connection passes through a large current burr.

(2) Decoupling

Decoupling, also known as decoupling. From the circuit point of view, it can always be divided into the driving source and the driven load. If the load capacitance is large, the drive circuit must charge and discharge the capacitor to complete the signal jump. When the rising edge is steep, the current is relatively large, In this way, the driving current will absorb a large power supply current. As the inductance and resistance in the circuit (especially the inductance on the chip pin will rebound), this current is actually a kind of noise relative to the normal situation, which will affect the normal operation of the previous stage, which is called "coupling".

The decoupling capacitor acts as a "battery" to meet the current change of the driving circuit, avoid the coupling interference between each other, and further reduce the high-frequency interference impedance between the power supply and the reference ground in the circuit.
